Advent and the Christmas Season is over. What a whirlwind! Christmas Eve we had a fun “Instant Pageant” with the local children. All children are welcome to show up, don a costume, and participate in the Christmas Story, in this short 30 minute service that weaves the Christmas story with beloved Christmas carols.
Candlelight service at 7:00 was as beautiful as ever: readings, carols, and the finale–Silent Night sung with everyone holding a lit candle.
Christmas fell on a Wednesday this year, so we hosted Christmas Dinner for the Wednesday Supper. Our friends Liz and Roger decorated the tables with Marsha and Cayden, provided an English flair with Christmas crowns, and Liz entertaining with jokes from “Christmas Crackers.” We had turkey and gravy, ham, mashed potatoes, squash, homemade cranberry sauce, Mac n’ cheese, jello molds (of course!), green beans, and lots of desserts. What a feast!
We look forward to planning another year of continuing to make our church a vital part of this beautiful community.
